• Cannabidiol, or the more common name CBD, is one of over 500 compounds found in the Cannabis sativa plant. It and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) are two of the most well-known ingredients.  Cannabis plants can be referred to as hemp or marijuana, but this depends on the level of THC they contain when tested.  Hemp plants contain less than 0.3% of THC where as marijuana plants contain much higher amounts. 

• Animals and humans have similar endocannabinoid systems (ECS).  The ECS is a signaling system that regulates bodily functions. Dogs continuously make endocannabinoids to keep everything balanced and working well. When the ECS fails to work properly, negative health issues arise, which is when CBD can come in to help. Rather than prescribed medications, it can be used to alleviate symptoms caused by these imbalances. 
   
  Cannabinoids can be naturally produced by the body or by the hemp plant. Both can support the ECS through receptors found on cell membranes. These cells are important for bodily mobility and overall health. Scientific studies have shown that CBD can restore balance in the body’s processes where there may be an issue. Once consumed, the CBD triggers the ECS to release enzymes to break down the CBD so then it can attach to the receptors, which in turn sends support to the cells needing repair. 
   
  Cannabinoids in CBD mimic those that are naturally produced in the body by the ECS. When paired together, the ECS goes into hyperdrive, creating a lot more, new Endocannabinoids in the body. 
   
  There are two types of receptors in the Endocannabinoid System. CB1, found mostly in the central nervous system and the brain and CB2- receptors, which are found mainly in peripheral organs, bones, liver, skin + immune cells. This is why CBD oil is so beneficial to the entire body. Once it binds with each receptor, balance is restored in the impaired cells and symptoms are relieved or processes are improved. 

• CBD is an inhibitor of cytochrome P450 and has the potential to affect the metabolism of other drugs.  While this appears to be of minimal clinical significance in most cases, this may be important when CBD is used in a pet for seizure control. Doses of other anticonvulsants may need to be adjusted.  Remember that owners may discontinue anticonvulsants on their own if they feel that CBD is controlling their pet’s seizures, so this is an important discussion to have.
  CBD has also been shown to cause elevations in liver enzymes in various safety studies. This has not been noted in acute overdose situations but could be a concern in pets taking CBD long-term. Monitoring liver enzymes and total bilirubin in these pets is recommended.

• Best-by dates will vary based on ingredients, formula, and type of product. Check the product packaging or contact our customer service team to learn more about specific products. Tinctures generally last for approximately one year when stored properly
   

• Proper storage, as recommended, will increase the effective shelf-life of our CBD products.  We suggest storing our products in a dry, cool place with no direct exposure to constant light or excessive heat.

• MoonFlower uses third-party, ISO-certified labs to rigorously test all of our products from start to finish. We test to ensure the proper amount of hemp-derived CBD is present in each product as promised on the label. We also test to ensure that our products do not contain any other unwanted chemicals, metals, or additives
   

• Ingredients vary by product, but all of our CBD products are made with non-GMO industrial hemp that’s grown right here in the USA.  Our CBD extract is then combined with a range of clean ingredients, with all products being made in our GMP-certified labs. • Note: Always consult a veterinarian before using CBD on your pets. This product contains a total delta-9-THC concentration that does not exceed 0.3% on a dry-weight basis. It is the customer’s responsibility to know applicable state and local laws in regard to consumption of this product.

Once an order has been dispatched you may return the goods within 30 days of receipt. Goods must be unopened with seals in tact. If an item has been used/opened we cannot accept a return due to potential denaturing of the product.

You must notify us within 7 days of receipt of goods for any Damages/Faults or incorrect products received.

Please use a secure tracked and signed service when sending back an order as our returns team are not able to action any return without the order being received. Please also ensure that your full name and order number is confirmed inside the box so we can identify the order placed and contact you as soon as possible.
